The onset of the monsoon means dark clouds are sweeping across the sky, there’s more greenery around that soothes your eyes and its cozy at home but you always think twice before stepping outside. Luckily I now live in a place with different seasons, which was not the case a few months back, so I get to enjoy every season at its best. The rainy season could be annoying for your shoes, but there are a few ways to make the best of it. Although if you aren’t living in a place where its raining, you might end up visiting one around you, so read on…
Since the monsoon had set in warm beverages have become my favorite company. They help you shove away all the laziness and stay focused during your day. When you order one at a cafe it always comes with foam art, especially when its a mocha or a latte. No matter how many times I’ve seen it, it always puts a smile on my face.
The season also calls for piping hot food, which is the best way to eat food anyway, rather than when it cools down or gets refrigerated. It’s also the best time to treat yourself with a tempting snack or share it with your loved ones. Although when you’re out, it’s better to be careful about your choices given all the germs around.
Monsoon also means that you’re spending a lot of time indoors, and while you’re at it you might pick up that book you always wanted to read or binge watch your favorite shows while enjoying the rain pour. You could also take into a new hobby that would keep you entertained.
At times when you actually need to go out in the rain its best to keep a zip pouch for your phone. From my personal experience losing your phone to moisture is as good as loosing half your life, it’s also a pain to get it fixed, so better be safe.
For all those women with long hair, you would get my problem, this season isn’t kind to our hair though, it gets frizzy. It’s the best time to experiment with buns or braids and keep that hair serum handy.
Best of all it’s the perfect time to visit a nearby hill station. The greenery around, the beautiful lakes and calm atmosphere always soothes your senses. There’s no problem if you do enjoy getting drenched in the rain while you’re there. Just use eucalyptus oil or a spiced tea or warm lime water with honey and ginger to avoid any chances of a cold.
