A Girl with a Dream

I was struggling to come up with something to write about in the recent past. The truth was that my spirits were not that lifted. Although I won’t be sharing the gory details of that story, I finally decided to pick up my pen (in my head, because I usually write on my phone) and scribble. If you’ve read my articles Life in Reverse and A Tale of Different Cities, you might know quite a lot about me by now. I decided to write something personal again. We all dream about the qualities and habits we want to inculcate and maintain throughout our lives. These traits make us who we are and here are few I have sustained so far.

A Runner, I’m a very amateur one in that. My week typically starts only when I run, which is usually a Tuesday morning on an ideal weekday or later during the week on a hectic one. I make sure I run 3 – 5 times a week. There are few other fitness activities that I take an interest in like cycling, weight training, swimming and yoga. However, nothing beats the power of running.

An Engineer, yes just like any other Indian I wound up working in the software industry. Don’t get me wrong, as a child I would always tell my parents and people around that I wanted to be an Engineer #truestory. So I work in the technical field, enjoy completing my tasks it as quickly as possible and earn my daily bread.

A Traveller, when I get a break sometime during the week, I plan my travel, which is mostly around the country (India) right now, but yeah I would be exploring the world too. This is again something I’ve always wanted to do since I was a child. My enthusiasm is at its peak when I travel to an unknown place, nothing beats the joy of immersing yourself the culture and heritage of a new place.

A Trekker, this is one activity that takes care of fitness, traveling and the thrill of a challenging hike. All in all, trekking has its own charm. I was first fascinated by trekking when I started working, I would always imagine a time when even I could be an avid trekker, today I am one. I look for chances to trek every other month. Every year I try to cross a new altitude, and I can only dream of climbing some of the tallest peaks in the world someday.

A Blogger, I love writing for my blog, no matter how challenging it gets. I always wanted imbed writing into my routine. I began writing a diary when I was a five-year-old, my father made us start this practice so that he could correct our grammar. I maintained that habit during my childhood. During college, I wrote for my college magazine. I started my first blog around the same time, although I couldn’t maintain it, I still hold those articles close to my heart. I now have this blog that I’m proud of, and I plan to improve it and build it further.

A Dreamer, I’m just a simple girl who has a dream. Don’t we all love dreaming about who we want to be? I have my own fairy tale in mind and that may not the typical boy meets girl, etc., etc. But there is so much more I want to do in life. I have been trying to craft my life bit by bit into a wonderful journey. Rather than letting it just pass by me without any meaning. I have faced challenges, but I try overcoming them without losing my spirits. So hope all of you have your own aspirations about living the abundant life, and you can watch them manifest someday.
