Time is the most precious gift we’ve been blessed with. Much more valuable than money or anything else in this world, it annoys me at times when few people don’t understand its importance. It’s probably the only thing that once spent cannot be earned back. So when people come around trying to waste your time it gets annoying, doesn’t it?
I had one such experience over a year back where a person had wasted my time to the point that it made my brain explode and ruined an entire vacation. It was like I lost 10 days of my life. It took me a while to regain my calm and brush the dust off my shoulders.
There is another kind of time wasters who concentrate too much on the negative rather than focusing on what good can be done. There’s also the kind that keeps procrastinating rather than getting things done.
So when people ask me “Why travel solo?” or, “Why so many places?” It is because I know that now is the time for me, I have the resources and who knows what’s in store later. It’s also one great technique apart from workouts to take time out for myself.
I was once very naive when I started working, I just kept waiting for opportunities that never came by. Whether it was travel or trekking or any other activity, I kept waiting for someone to give me company. Never realizing that the things I want in life might not be what everyone around me desires.
On any given day, I would value my experiences a lot more than any materialistic object or money. So I started pursuing my hobbies one after the other.
So how to stop wasting time?
- Surround yourself with people who get things done.
- Prioritize what you need more in life.
- Make a routine and follow it!
- Talk to people with similar interests.
- Cut out all the negativity as far as possible.
So there it is, a little jibber jabber about time and how I’ve realized its importance, if you have anything to add do let me know. Stay positive. 😀
